Jerry and Linda Toothman of Sistersville are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. They were married on Aug. 3, 1968 at the Medina Church of Christ in Medina, Ohio by Evangelist Jack Duty. Linda is the daughter of Elma Mullins and the late Luke Mullins of Medina, Ohio. Jerry is the son of Wilbur Toothman and the late Jo Toothman of Farmington, WV. They have three children: Kristen McCort and her husband Mike of Wooster, OH, Benjamin Toothman of Parkersburg, WV, and Trisha McRae and her husband Damian of Sheffield Lake, OH. They have one grandson, Luke McCort. Jerry is the minister at the Sistersville Church of Christ, with whom the couple has worked for the past twenty-four years.

Emilie Lynn Asher celebrated her fifth birthday on April 15. Emilie is the daughter of David and Tracy (Owens) Asher of Inverness, Fla.

Linsie Nicole Asher celebrated her first birthday on Jan. 31. She is the daughter of David and Tracy (Owens) Asher of Inverness, Fla.

Daniel and Glory Highley , formerly of Tyler County, wish to announce the birth of their third child, Danielle Angelina Highley, born May 14.

Roger and Margaret Williams of Powhatan Point, Ohio are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Michelle Leahmarie Williams to David Keller Beagle, son of Dave and Naomi Beagle of Middlebourne. Michelle is a 1996 graduate of River High School. She is presently employed by the Tyler County Board of Education as a pre-school teacher. All Valley School of Dance and Gymnastics also employs her as an instructor.

Alex and Judy Thoburn of Paden City announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Rene Thoburn, to Steven Anthony Blatt, son of Steve and Cindy Blatt of Paden City.

Jim and Janice Mikes of Paden City celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 7 with a family dinner and a trip to Branson, Mo. The couple was married on June 7, 1958, at the Church of Christ in Paden City. The ceremony was officiated by C.W. Rock.

Richard and Tracy Summers of Sistersville, WV announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Renee Summers, to Jonathan Edward Farley of Hinton, WV.

Mr. and Mrs. George W. Meeks, Sr., of Paden City celebrated their 55th anniversary June 27.

Jeff and Amy Hayes wish to announce the birth of their third child, a son named Jeffrey Levi Hayes. He was born March 24 at MonGeneral in Morgantown. He weighed eight pounds and was 21-inches long.

Midshipman Steven N. Jones of Sistersville has received a Silver Star at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y., for academic achievement during the second term in the winter of 2007 and 2008.
