Is the Wells for sale? If so, please let me know...I'd love to buy it and restore it. From what I can see, it needs a lot of help and I would be delighted to do the job. I grew up in the hotel and love it.

Iamchaz, don't get discouraged, most of the locals are excited and behind you and your wife 100%. I still think Ken is the rumor monger. Get the facts, email imchaz, he was upright enough to make it public!

The local businesses will be very glad to see the Wells open; for example, one visitor to a local company is staying in Pittsburgh and driving down this week... I must say that I am enjoying this. Were you waiting with baited breath waiting for a response? I tend to be a "cut to the chase" type. So here it is. Come summer either my wife and I will have the Wells open or we won't. I am a big boy and really won't discuss my business on a public forum. I will say that the Wells purchase is the part of a much larger deal that I have been working on for several months. So like I said, either we will or we wont. Now if you would like the discuss the merits of buying in a hotel that has been closed, in a small market and needs a lot of work, especially in this real estate market, I would be willing to debate. Especially when you consider that something like 25% of all hotels are in default.

My understanding is that the hotel is already under contract. Walker still has The Gaslight for sale though.

To contact current owner call the County tax office and they can give you the current owner and contact info plus tax apprasial, current taxes and liens if any. There is one on Wells Inn by Walker.
