W.Va. Elks Association Recognizes Local Teens

At the recent Mid-Year Convention of the West Virginia Elks Association held in Charleston, WV, three Tyler County teens received first place awards as Senior and Junior Teenagers of the Year. They were recognized at an Awards Luncheon and Program at the Charleston Marriott Town Center held during the convention on August 10, 2019.

Miranda Weekley, a recent graduate of Tyler Consolidated High School, was named as the first place female winner as the Elks Senior Teenager of the Year in West Virginia for 2019-2020. She is the daughter of Brian and Tamie Weekley of Sistersville, WV.

Abbigail Kimble and Carson Gorby, who both recently completed the eighth grade at Tyler Consolidated Middle School, were named as the first place female and male winners as the Elks Junior Teenagers of the Year in West Virginia for 2019-2020. Abbi is the daughter of J.C. and Amanda Kimble of Sistersville, WV, and Carson is the son of David and Denise Gorby of Paden City, WV.

All were local winners of this award sponsored by the Sistersville Elks Lodge No. 333. They advanced to and won at the district competition and were then selected as first place winners at the state level over participants from the other eighteen West Virginia Elks Lodges.
