Wildcats Host Annual Alumni Basketball Game

July 10, 2019
Tyler Star News

The numbers were down a little this year , but the heat was still on as the 2019 Paden City Alumni Basketball game took place on Friday evening July 5, in the old Middle School Gym. Several players from recent years including the Wildcats new head football coach Zach Heasley chose teams and took to the floor in 100 degree temperatures to provide an exciting game for Alumni and spectators to enjoy.

The best match up of the night seemed to be the competitive challenge of father David Yeater (a member of the Wildcats 1987 undefeated team) going against his son Zach who graduated a feww years back an his on West Liberty's track team. Newest members to the Alumni squad included 2019 grad's Trey Slider and Matt Saxon.

The game was nip and tug throughout with some three's being knocked down and several slam attempts just falling short. When all was said and done it was a five point game 92-87 with Coach Heasley's team getting the win. Might just be an indication of what's to come this fall when the Wildcats football hits the field.
