2019 Wetzel-Tyler All-Star Softball Team

Rose, Tharp, Walton Captain Wetzel-Tyler Softball Team; Eagles’ Johnson Named Coach of the Year

Magnolia Girls Softball Coach Angela Johnson has been named Wetzel/Tyler Coach of the year and Coach of the All-Star Softball Team after the Blue Eagles finished with a 16-7 record and a runner-up trophy in the OVAC Class AAA championship.

Captains

River - Livi Rose, Senior - Captain - Rose had a batting average of .472 and slugging at .667 with a team-high 24 RBIs. She was the #2 pitcher, struck-out 18, winning two and losing one.

Magnolia - Ashley Tharp, Senior - Captain - Tharp, senior was an all around player, As a pitcher, she pitched 146 innings, striking out 197 and walked 32. She gave up only 52-runs all season, with 29 earned. She had a 16-7 record and a 1.79 ERA and had one save. At the plate, she had a team-high .465 batting average, with a remarkable .884 slugging. She knocked in a team-high 32 RBIs. She had 1-triple, 7-home-runs and 13 doubles.

Tyler Consolidated

JoLee Walton, Senior - Captain - Walton ended her career for the Knights earning her fourth letter. She was primarily the catcher but also took to the mound quite often. Her batting average was .308, while she scored 19 runs and had 20 hits, with 20 RBI. Walton had seven double on the season and two triples. As a pitcher she struck out 16 batters and had a 2.09 ERA. She fielded with a .881 rate and only had eight errors on the season.

All-Star Team

Paden City Senior Ashlyn Moses The Wildcat senior had a stellar year. She was catcher most always and finished with only nine errors on the season. She hit at .426, in 68 at bats. She scored 13 runs, had 29 hits with nine RBI. She had four doubles, one triple, and two home runs.

Paden City - Sophomore Kelsey Michael - had a batting average of .312 in 64 attempts. She scored 17 runs, had 20 hits, including three doubles and two triples. Kelsey ended the season with with a fielding percentage of 1000 with no errors.

Paden City - Sophomore Raven Fulks - had a team high .428 batting average, on 61 attempts from the plate. She had 28 hits, scored 17 runs, added four RBI and had nine doubles and two triples. She handled the S.S. Chores and also played some catcher. Her fielding average was .769 with six errors.

Paden City - Sophomore Erin McIntyre Was the main weapon on the mound for the Wildcats with a 1.19 ERA. She ended the season with 32 K's in 75 innings pitched. As a fielder she had a .750 fielding average with only one error. She hit .394 in 71 attempts, scored 16 runs and had 28 hits. She had five RBI and was credited with two doubles and a triple.

Tyler Consolidated - Junior Madison DeVaughn was the Knights weapon on the mound this season going 79 innings with 54 strike outs and a 2.45 ERA. She batted at .361, with two double, two triples and two home runs. Madison scored 21 runs and had 20 RBI on 20 hits. She also stole 13 bases this season and had a fielding average of .725.

Tyler Consolidated - Junior - Allie Miller had a fantastic fielding average of .957 with only five errors.

She played outfield and some first base. Allie batted at .323, scoring 21 runs. She had 21 hits and drove in 18 runs with three doubles, two triples and a home run.

Tyler Consolidated - Junior - Summer Miller hit at .391 to lead the team. In 46 at bats she has 18 hits, seven RBI, and scored eight runs. Summer had six doubles, one triple and an on base average of .472. Her fielding average was .952 with only four errors.

River - Senior - Candace Caldwell, had a .395 batting average, in 23-games with a .432 slugging, while stealing 9-bases. She knocked in 21 runs, that included a triple and five doubles, while scoring 23-runs.

River - Senior - Katie Lively, was the teams main flame thrower. She struck-out 72 in 20 games pitched, winning 10-games. At the plate, she had a .400 batting average with one triple, three doubles and knocked in 15-runs. She had a .258 batting average, with a .491 slugging percentage.

River - Livi Rose, also a senior had a batting average of .472 and slugging at .667 with a team-high 24 RBIs. She was the #2 pitcher, struck-out 18, winning two and losing one.

River - Senior - Riley Lollathin, also a senior was the teams top batter. She had a .359 batting avearge, with 5-doubles and 5-triples and 2-home-runs as a lead-off batter. She had a .688 slugging percentage and scored a team-high 28-runs, and walked a team-high 14 times as well as 13 stolen bases.

Valley - Junior - Jamie West, a junior catcher batted .377 with 23-hits, including 8-doubles and 11 stolen bases.

Valley - Olivia Scyoc, played a solid shirt-stop, batted .333 with 3-doubles and 1-triple and a team-high 18 stolen bases.

Valley - Megan Brown, was their top pitcher, and was just as effective at the plate where she batted .288 with 2-doubles and four stolen bases. This senior hurler, had over 100 strike-outs in her career, with 80 coming this year with 8-wins in 78-innings while walking 30.

Hundred - Senior - Tori Hawkins. She has played all four years and played wherever she was needed. She mostly the battery-mate for the pitchers, and threw some herself. She was a student of the game as well as in the classroom and you can tell it from the stands.

Magnolia - Ashlyn Piekarski - Ashlyn Piekarski, senior pitched in 5-games with 11 innings pitched. She struck-out 9-batters, won 2-games and had 1-save. She ended the season with a team-best 1.64 ERA. At The plate she had 2-home-runs, 10-doubles and 24 RBIs. She had a 402 batting average with a .598 slugging average

Magnolia - Kayna Anderson - Kayna Anderson, junior second baseball. She had a .413 batting average and a .488 slugging. She led the team with 15-stolen bases, while belting 1-triple, 4-doubles and had 12 RBIs.

Magnolia - Lindsay Whiteman - Lindsay Whiteman, had a .403 batting average, .442 slugging with 23 RBIs and 5-double and played a great left-field.

Magnolia - Paige Brill - . Paige Brill, junior short-stop besides playing good defense, she had a .354 batting average and a .524 slugging, with three home-runs and 5-doubles.
