Silver Knights’ Season Ends With Sectional Loss to PC

The Silver Knights took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third on a double by Gage Huffman that hit the top of the center field fence and drove in a run.

Paden City couldn't get anything going in the earlty innings but played excellent defense and halted a couple Silver Knights rallies by picking off two runners stealing.

In the top of the sixth the Wildcats went to work and plated four runs to take a three run lead heading into the seventh. In the top of the inning the Cat's added an insurance run for a 5-1 lead with the Knights getting one more chance to pull it out.

Paden City' s Trey Slider however was on his game and set down the Knights in order to get the win. Slider tossed 11 K's on the night without giving up a walk. He also added two hits and scored a run to help his cause. Clayton Thomas drove in a run with a single.

Tyler West took the loss for the Knights with six K's and three walks.

Huffman had a double, West got a single, Noah Smith singled and scored. The Knights ended their season with a 12-10 record.

Silver Knights fall to St. Marys in sectional

Tyler Consolidated traveled to St. Marys, on Tuesday May 7, for a first round game in the Region 1, Section 2, high school baseball tournament.

St. Marys behind a complete game eight strike out performance by pitcher Jason Clayton, held the Silver Knights to one hit and no runs in a five inning mercy rule,10-0 victory.

The Blue Devils scored three runs in each of the first two innings and added four more in the bottom of the fopurth to get the win. Gage Huffman suffered the loss for the Knights pitching .2 innings while Tyler West threw 1.1 inning and Dylan Seckman covered the final three at bats against the Blue Devils.

St. Marys collected nine hits with Jacob Hoyt gooing 2-3 with two RBI.

The Knights had three errors in the game to one for St. Marys.
