January 16, 2019
Tyler Star News

Three Tyler Consolidated High School Knights Band members were recently selected as 2019 West Virginia All-State Band Members. After several months that included countless hours of practicing and preparation, George Kester, Matthew Riddle and Makenzie Hakes achieved this remarkable accomplishment.

Kester received eighth chair percussion in the band, and Riddle earned first chair tuba, while Hakes received fourth chair french horn. The three will gather with the other members of these elite groups on March 7 and will perform on March 9 during the West Virginia Music Educators Association's annual conference in Charleston.

Kester, a junior at TCHS, is the son of Mike and Nancy Kester of Middlebourne.
