Tyler County Planning Commission Seeks Building Inspector

October 31, 2018
BY CHAD TURNER - STAFF WRITER (CTURNER@TYLERSTARNEWS.COM) , Tyler Star News

The Tyler County Planning Commission met recently and announced the region did not receive the grant for the ARC Building Code Enforcement grant in the amount of $48,600. However, the WV Housing Fund forgivable loan was approved, so there is $10,000 in funding for the project. The Planning Committee will reapply for the grant in hopes it will be approved. The Regional Council indicated it wanted communities to make advancements in ordinance codes, which some Tyler County communities already have. Also, the council is waiting to hear from a qualified participant before moving forward.

It is time for re-election of officers for the Planning Committee, so names are to be submitted at the November meeting in order to hold an election at the December meeting. There are several seats vacant; those interested should speak with their local planning commission member.

The next meeting will be held on Nov. 15 beginning at 7 p.m. and located at the Tyler County Courthouse in Middlebourne.
