Furthermore, as a result of this false report, Joseph Henderson, 41, was arrested.

"Upon investigation, this report was found to be false, and no one had been shot or injured as the result of a shooting," the statement read.

According to Sistersville Police Chief Rob Haught, the police department received a call around 5:30 p.m. from the county 911 center. The police department was informed by dispatch that the person who called 911 said there had been a shooting, and multiple people were dead.

Chief Haught confirmed Henderson as the person arrested. Haught said Henderson has a history of making false reports.

After Henderson was apprehended, he was transported to St. Marys Correctional Center. From there, he was transported to jail.
