The Knights took to the road on Saturday, due to home field conditions, and met the Titans on their home Astro Turf field. Gilmer, who has played 13 games to date and now stands at 11-2, scored five runs in their last three at bats to get the 7-2 win.

Tyler scored first in the top of the first, but the Titans came back with one of their own to tie the game. After holding the Knights scoreless, Gilmer County added another in their half of the inning to take the lead.

Tyler Consolidated tied it up 2-2 in the top of the third before the home team added two in the bottom of the fourth, one in the fifth, and two more in the sixth while holding the Silver Knights scoreless the rest of the way.

Luke Daugherty suffered his third loss of the season, working five innings before giving way to reliever Dylan Roberts in the sixth. Together they scattered seven hits and walked three while the Knight committed two errors in the field.

Gilmer County pitcher Jacob Persinger went the distance in pitching a one hit game while walking only two.

Senior second baseman Kyle Mason got the Knights' only hit as he went 1-3 and scored a run; he also stole a base.

Tyler West was credited with a stolen base and an RBI.

Silver Knights Fall to Magnolia

The Magnolia Blue Eagles had five runs in the fifth inning on March 26, against the Silver Knights, and came from a three-point deficit to take a 5-3 win.

The Knights got on the board in the first when Dylan Roberts scored on a bases-loaded walk after he had reached base on an error. In the second inning the Knights added another run when Justin Bowman came in when Tyler West got on by another error.

Another run in the fourth gave the visitors a 3-0 lead which held up until the bottom of the fifth when Magnolia loaded the bases on a walk and two straight hits. Another hit, infield single, brought home the first run; Jake Gamble drilled a shot to left-center to clear the base for a 4-3 lead. Gamble later scored when he stole third and advanced home on an errant throw.

The Silver Knights then got out of the inning but couldn't muster any more production leading to the final score. The Knights had plenty of opportunities in the first four innings but left 10 on base.

"We battled; we came to play, and this is a good rivalry game, but we just couldn't finish them off," said Coach Robby Jones. "It is early in the season, and our timely hitting needs to improve if we are going to win big games. When you leave that many guys on base, your timely hitting isn't where it needs to be."

Luke Daugherty took the loss even though he allowed just one hit in the first four innings; however, the Blue Eagles managed four hits in the fifth and added another in the sixth. Daugherty finished with six strikeouts and three walks in a complete game.

Gamble got the win for Magnolia, going the distance and picking up nine strikeouts while giving up five walks and only two hits. Roberts had a double for the Knights and Jake Rice added a single.
