Gogan Captures Crown At Harvest Festival Pageant

Photos by Lauren Matthews Marisa Gogan is crowned the 2017 Middle Island Harvest Festival Queen.

It was a night for beauty and grace as 11 local young ladies took the stage at Arthur I. Boreman Elementary School, in participation of the 2017 Middle Island Harvest Festival Pageant.

Marisa Gogan, who was also named Miss Congeniality, captured the title of Middle Island Harvest Festival Queen, while Kellsi Anderson earned First Runner-Up. Shayla Griffey, who was named Miss Photogenic, earned the Second Runner-Up spot.

In the Teen Queen pageant, it was Laken Johnson who earned the top title. Johnson also was named Miss Congeniality, while Faith Yoho was named First Runner-Up and Miss Photogenic. Amelia Williams captured the Second Runner-Up spot.

The pageant took place Saturday, Sept. 30 and featured the following phases of competition: Personal Interview, Sense of Style, Evening Gown, and On-Stage Question in Evening Gown.

Queen Marisa Gogan earned herself a custom sash, gold crown, plaque, flowers, $500 minimum cash award, crown pin, personalized jewelry, luggage items, parade signs, and gift certificates.

Gogan will also participate in an all-expenses paid trip to compete in the 2018 West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals Pageant.

Miss Teen Johnson receive a custom sash, gold crown, plaque, flowers, $200 minimum cash prize, crown pin, personalized jewelry, luggage items, parade signs, and gift certificates.

Teen contestants were the following: Faith Yoho, Zoe Silva, Mia Williams, Laken Johnson, Kyndra Stewart, and Clair Miller.

Queen constants were Shayla Griffey, Lindsay Streets, Cheyenne Coen, Marisa Gogan, and Kellsi Anderson.

The 2016 Middle Island Harvest Festival Queen was Celia Jane Morales, while Katlyn Griffey was the 2016 Teen Queen.
