Wildcats Volleyball Team Improves to 11-3

Paden City held off a good Bridgeport, Ohio team on Tuesday, September 19, at home to up their record to 11-3 on the season. The Wildcats took set one of the match in a close 25-22 win before upping their game in set two for a 25-14 victory. The Bullldogs, however turned the tables on the Cat's in set three with a 26-28 extra play set. The Cat's then put the match away with a big 25-21 win in set four.

For Coach Kings club Senior Jenna Ferrebee came up huge leading the team in points with 25 from the service line. She also had 17 kills, four blocks and one dig. Senior Katrina Heasley had a good night at the service line with 18 points while contributing seven kills, two assists and 15 digs.

Freshman Hope Weber scored 17 points, had 16 kills and one dig. Freshman Mallory Yeator added 15 pointsfive kills, 47 set, 19 assists and nine digs. Senior Aubrey Neff pitched in 11 points, 50 sets, 18 assists and 1eight digs. Malayna Price led the Cat's in digs with 29. Kameron McClain scored nine points, 10 digs and one kill. Jenna Arnett had six points, three sets, one assist and one dig.

Paden City continues winning ways

The Wildcats picked up two more volleyball wins on Monday, September 18, on the road at Clay Battelle. The Cat's who are in second place behind Beallsville, Ohio in the OVAC standings looked impressive as they took down both teams in straight sets.

In their first match against Clay Battelle, they struggled a little in the first set before coming back to get the win 25-21. They followed that up with a 25-10 set on the heels of some fine serving from the Wildcats, who also knocked down 22 kills in the match.

Senior Katrina Heasley came up big at the service line with a match high 15 points including two aces while also adding three digs, and two kills. Hope Weber pitched in 10 points and hammered home 11 kills while getting three blocks and a dig.

Jenna Ferrebee came through big for the Wildcats with seven points, an ace and 10 kills. Mallory Yeater and Aubrey Neff combined for a big night at the setting position with Yeater getting 13 assists on 30 sets while Neff ended with six assists on 29 sets. Yeater added two kills, two digs and six points, while Neff pitched in five points, and two digs.

Kameron McClain served eight points, an ace and had three digs. Malayna Price chipped in with eight digs and Jenna Arnett added a kill.

In the match with Morgantown Trintiy, Paden City dominated both sets 25-14 and 25-12. Neff filled the stat book as she showed her senior leadership with 14 points, 21 sets, 12 assists, two kills, two digs and two aces. Senior mates, McClain had eight points and two digs, while Price added 10 digs. Heasley had six points, one ace, two digs, two kills, three sets and two assists. Arnett added one dig and two kills.

The Wildcats got good play from their two freshman standouts, with Yeater getting 10 assists on 13 sets, while having nine points, one ace, one dig and six kills. Weber's nine kills led the Cat's, while scoring four points with an ace.

"We are coming together at the right time. Tonight you saw a complete team effort with everyone contributing. The girls have been working hard on their timing and this may be one of the best serving teams I've had. I'm very proud of the way the senior leadership as taken over this team. We have some quality underclassmen but without our veterans playing their roles we wouldn't be the team we are," Said Coach King.
