Knights’ Girls Place Fifth at St. Mary’s Invitational

With nine teams competing, the Silver Knights girls came away with 43 quality points.

Isis Moore led the way with 14 of her own. Moore finished fifth in the open 100 with a 14.30 and second in the 200 meter dash with a 29.50. She also fourth in the long jump with a leap of 14-11.50.

Emily Lancaster also had a good night as she got six points in the pole vault with a 7-06.00 and a fifth place long jump for two more points leaping 14-06.00. Lancaster was also a member of the third place 4x102.5 shuttle hurdle team along with Rachel Thomas, Lindsey Streets, and Rachal Hashman all four are underclassmen. They finished the race in 1:21.76 good for six points.

The Knights Katie Pratt took sixth in the 800 meter run with a 2:53.30 adding a point, and fifth in the high jump with a 4-06.00, while Emma Paden got fourth in the 1600 with a 6:47.40 and fifth in the 3200 with a 15:07.04 adding six points to the team total.

Rachel Hashman finished sixth in the 100 meter hurdles with a 20.76 good for a point. The Knights 4x100 meter relay team made up of Pratt, Alex Mongold, R. Hashman and Melissa Chapman got a sixth place with a 1:01.98. The 4x200 team of Katie Miller, Mongold, Demery Nelson and Rosana Smith, finished in fifth place good for two points and a time of 2:18.64.

Tessa Boyd rounded out the Silver Knights scoring with two points as she threw the discus 84-09.

Knights girls fair well at track

The Tyler Consolidated girls track team came in a close second to host Clay Battelle in the six team meet on Tuesday, April 4.

Isis Moore gathered 10 points for the team with a third place finish in the 100 meter dash (13.95) and a fourth place (29.55) in the open 200. Rachel Thomas added two points to the Knights total with a fifth place in the 400 meter dash, (1:16.72).

Tyler's 800 meter runner, Katie Pratt, turned in a nice time of 2:50.22 to grab the second place spot and earn eight points. Adding 10 more points for the Knights was Jahnvi Duncan coming in third for six points with a 6:40.31, and Emma Paden with a fourth place 6:58.25 for four points.

The Knights continued to pile up points with Paden putting eight more to their total finishing second in the 3200 meter run. In the 100 meter hurdles the Knights got six points from Rachel Thomas and Rachal Hashman as they came in fourth and fifth in 20.35 and 20.80. Lindsay Streets got third in the 300 meter hurdles to get six more with a 1:05.62.

The girls 4x100 meter relay team took third place honors with a fine 1:02.66 for six points. Team members included Alex Mongold, Katie Miller, Rachal Hashman and Melissa Chapman. The Knights 4x200 relay team, consisting of Demry Nelson, Katie Miller, Katie Pratt and Emily Lancaster, raced to a fourth place finish with a time of 2:12.63 for four points.

The 4x400 team got six points with a third place in a time of 5:27.72 with a team of Rachel Thomas, Demry Nelson, Lindsey Streets and Katie Pratt.

The Silver Knights 4x102.5 meter shuttle hurdle team got second place with a 1:20.12 for eight points. Team members were Thomas, Streets, R. Hashman and Lancaster.

Pratt got a fifth place finish in the high jump with a jump of 4-04.00 for two points. Emily Lancaster won the pole vault with an 8-0 effort for 10 points. Isis Moore got first and Lancaster came in second in the long jump for the Knights. Moore jumped 14-05.50 and Lancaster had a leap of 14-03.25, those two jumps added 18 points for Tyler.

Tessa Boyd continued to throw well in the shot put as she got second place with a toss of 26-09.00, good for eight more Knights points. She then added 10 more points as she captured the discus throw with a heave of 82-00.

Silver Knights track teams are showing up and making their presence felt.
