Paden City High School's annual eighth grade field trip received a much-appreciated donation from Bella Construction and Development, Inc.
The company donated $1,000 toward this year's trip, to be held May 24-26.
This annual trip enables kids, who read and study about our nation's capitol, a chance to actually experience its many museums, memorials and other historical sites.
Pictured are representatives of Bella Construction and Development, Inc. handing Jay Salva, Paden City High School principal, a check for $1,000, in support of the eighth grade classes’ upcoming May 24-26 trip to Washington DC. Pictured are Ken Stead, Paden City Councilman; Principal Jay Salva, and Bella Construction employees, Dave Arledge and Paul Zurrica.
Itinerary includes a visit to Six Flags, visits to Arlington Cemetery, Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, and visits to Vietnam Memorial Wall, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, FDR Memorial, and Thomas Jefferson.
Although students have raised more than half the money needed, much more fund raising will be taking place.
In addition to Bella Construction's generous donation, the eigth grade class and parents are currently running fundraisers selling Butter Braids, Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Sarris Candy. Principal Salva stated that the more money raised reduces the amount each student's family is responsible for, and enables some students to attend whose family finances may have prevented their participation. Principal Salva encourages everyone to participate in the fundraisers, and individual donations supporting the trip can be sent or dropped off at the high school.
