Tyler Man Charged With Child Neglect

By Staff | Feb 22, 2017

MIDDLEBOURNE — A Jacksonburg man was charged with child neglect causing bodily harm after a baby sustained a head injury after allegedly falling to the floor during a dispute with the child’s mother.

Dustin E. Braucher, 20, was arraigned Thursday by Magistrate Mary Dotson who set bond at $5,000.

The charge stems from an alleged fight on Jan. 5 between Braucher and his girlfriend Michaelia Lallathin at their home on Indian Creek Road, according to a report from the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office. During the alleged struggle, the 2-month-old baby fell from Lallathin’s arms as she was falling to the floor.

The left side of the baby’s head was bruised and swelling, so the child was taken to the Sistersville General Hospital for treatment, according to the sheriff’s report. Lallathin had bruising and swelling on her forehead and on the back of her neck, court documents said.
