SISTERSVILLE -- Peoples Bank recently hired Jonathan Kerns as branch manager for its Sistersville location.
Kerns will oversee the day-to-day branch activities, continue to build on and maintain world class service, and lead efforts to develop business and community relationships.
"Jonathan's personality, experience and knowledge of the community are a perfect fit for this position. We're thrilled to have him overseeing the bank's Sistersville branch," said Elysia Taylor, Peoples Bank vice president/regional manager.
Kerns, 42, resides in Sistersville with his wife Tamara and their three children. He is a graduate of Magnolia High School in New Martinsville. Their oldest son, Caleb, will be attending WVNCC to study Computer Science. Currently, their two younger children, Lucas and Abigail, attend Tyler Consolidated High School and Middle School, respectively.
Kerns said he is thrilled about the opportunity to serve the folks of Tyler County.
"I know it may sound cliche, but it is the people that make Tyler County so special," he said. "There is something genuine about the people of Tyler County that is not characteristic of other areas. Whether you are a native of Tyler County or new to the area, it is the rich history of Tyler County that binds families together, spans generations, and makes neighbors and friends of us all."
Kerns is a firm believer in the importance of community banking.
"When the word community is used, it refers to the people of any given area," he said. "I believe our name, Peoples Bank, says it all. We have a vested interest in the community, that is, the people we serve. We are your friends and neighbors living and working side by side with you each day. It is one of our missions here at Peoples Bank to support and serve our communities and to build lasting relationships with the people in those communities we are a part of."
