Thieves Steal From Man of God

By Staff | Nov 2, 2016

SISTERSVILLE – Reverend Robert Kincaid is by nature a forgiving man, but he would like to see some thieves learn more about what a jail cell looks like.

Kincaid said his cabin/camp site was burglarized Wednesday. He said the thieves took more than $5,000 worth of items from his property on a campground located along W.Va. 2 between Sistersville and Paden City near the Ohio River.

“I’m convinced that bad things can happen too good people,” Kincaid said. “God has given everybody free will. We always don’t make the right decisions in life. As a result of that, there are consequences. Whomever committed made a poor chose and will have to suffer the consequences.”

The Tyler County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.

Kincaid the thieves stole anything from food, a teddy bear, televisions, a $400 vacuum to a brand new generator. They even stole his wife Lucy’s pistol which she has had for 40 years. He said they may have even had a meal and watched television while burglarizing the couple’s place.

The odd thing is that the thieves didn’t ransack the place, but left it relatively clean, Kincaid said.

The faithful believe that it is not a good idea to steal from anyone who is anointed preacher or parishioner but God most likely doesn’t look to favorably on those who would steal from a preacher.

“Bible Scripture tell us ‘Touch not my anointed,'” said Kincaid, a retired preacher. “They not only sinned against me, but God.”

Kincaid encourages the thieves to return the stolen items to his cabin.

Barring that, anyone with information about the incident should contact the sheriff’s department at 304-758-4551.
