Clyde Lathey

Clyde W. Lathey, 74, of Parkersburg, passed away September 26, 2016. He was born January 9, 1942, to Harry C. and Garnet Sheets Lathey.

After drafting training and serving in the National Guard in Newport News, Va., Clyde opened his business, Central Drafting and Blueprint, Inc., in 1971 in Parkersburg.

Clyde established one of the largest private collections of U.S.S. West Virginia memorabilia which was displayed in his business for many years. He donated the memorabilia to the State of West Virginia where it is displayed in Charleston. Clyde loved Bluegrass Music and enjoyed picking guitar with friends.

Surviving are his sister, Sandra (Gene) Cokeley of Waverly, and brother, Ron (Beth) Lathey of Williamstown, and two nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Shirley Brammer.

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 29 at 11 a.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Chuck Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Island Cemetery.
