Cheerleaders place third in West Virginia

Tyler Consolidated High School’s Silver Knight cheerleaders competed in Charleston on Dec. 13 at the WVSSAC Cheerleading Championships, placing third overall when the competition was complete.

The cheerleaders representing Clay-Battelle took the state championship trophy in the Class A division with, 337.3 points. The Cee-Bee’s were followed by Man in second with 328.75 points; Tyler Consolidated, 320.75 points; Tug Valley, 315.6; Williamstown, 287.35; Tucker County, 269.45; South Harrison, 260.75; and Wirt County with 256.15 points.

In the class AA competition, Robert C. Byrd took first place with Bridgeport placing as runners-up. In the class AAA competition, Wheeling Park came home with the championship trophy, followed by Brooke in second.
