The Tyler County Chapter of the Future Farmers of America sales grossed $43,851.80 at the 63rd annual Ham, Bacon, Egg Show and Sale held March 7 at Tyler Consolidated High School.
Several students exhibited their products at the local show. Robert Phillips, of Joe Pyles Auctioneering Services out of Mount Morris, Pa., auctioned the pieces, selling them to the highest bidder
Nathan Billiter showed off his 23.5-pound Grand Champion ham, which was sold to Union Bank for $27 per pound ($634.50). Justin Williams' 7.5 per pound Grand Champion bacon went to Long Reach Federal Credit Union for $46 per pound ($345). Laken Curtis sold her Grand Champion eggs to McDonald's for $450. The Grand Champion bread, exhibited by Damien Curtis, went to Valley Towing and Auto Repair for $325.

Reserve Champion products were exhibited by Lauren Seckman, Lacey Seckman, Damien Curtis, and Ty Pratt.
Lauren Seckman's 22-pound ham was sold to Glover's Trucking for $27 per pound ($594). Lacey Seckman's 8.3-pound bacon went to Long Reach Federal Credit Union for $44 per pound ($365.20); Curtis' eggs were purchased by John Watson of Hometown Racing for $300; and Linda Hoover of the Board of Education bought Pratt's Reserve Champion bread for $250.
The Tyler FFA Scholarship Ham was sold to DAC Energy for $700, and the Tyler FFA Scholarship bacon also went to DAC Energy.
The students and their advisor, Leon Ammons, extend grateful appreciation to Tim Aiken, president of the Union Bank, Inc. for providing ribbons for the exhibits; Steve Bonanno, WVU Extension Service, for judging the hams and bacons; Annie Hall, agriculture instructor at Valley High School, for judging hams and bacons; Kent Yoho, principal of Tyler Consolidated High School, for providing facilities for the show and sale; Green Valley Co-Op for providing bags; and Robert Phillips from Joe Pyles Auctioneering Service for auctioneering this year's sale.
