CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Regional development councils across West Virginia are sharing $420,000 to help spur economic growth and create good-paying jobs in the state.
Sens. Joe Manchin and Jay Rockefeller and Rep. Nick Rahall announced the Economic Development Administration funding on Wednesday.
The councils bring together the public and private sectors to establish strategies that will boost local and regional economies by overcoming challenges and focusing on job creation.
The seven councils will each receive $60,000 to support economic development projects.
