Beech Run Free Will Baptist Church will be hosting The Golden Tones and The Kings Kids on July 26 at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and spend the evening singing praises to our Lord. Refreshments to follow.

Friendly Baptist Church will be hosting Vacation Bible School, sponsored by New Whiteland Baptist Church, Indiana, on July 27 through 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be classes for age 3 to adult. The Sistersville First United Methodist Church invites all children to ride the wave of God’s love at their summer Vacation Bible School Beach Party: Surfing through the Scriptures. PowerLab - Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power” Vacation Bible School will be held July 28 to Aug. 1, 6-9 p.m., at the First Church of God, located at 255 Russell Avenue in New Martinsville (by Wal-Mart). There will be classes for children in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. Anyone who needs a ride to VBS or more information can call (304) 455-3453. Meeting of the Board of Health will take place at Wetzel-Tyler Health Department, Paden City on July 30 at 3:00 p.m.

The Aug. 9 meeting of Friends, a singles’ club will take place at the Cpourt Restaurant in New Martinsville at 5 p.m. No reservations are needed.

The Paden City Vol. Fire Co. will sponsor an all-you-can-eat breakfast at the fire hall on Aug. 2 from 8 a.m. until noon. The menu includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links and patties, pancakes, French toast, sausage gravy, biscuits, fruit salad, toast, coffee, milk, chocolate milk, apple juice, and orange juice. The Community Lighthouse Church will host Avalanche Rand, a wild ride through God’s word, July 14 through 18 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. nightly as its annual Vacation Bible School. For more information, call 652-2874.

Camp CSI - Christ Seeking Individuals” is the theme for the 10th Christian Teen Camp of Tyler County. It takes place July 14-18.This free camp is offered to sixth through twelfth graders at the Tyler County 4-H Camp by the Middlebourne Baptist Church. All youth are invited! Camp activities include music, campfires, games, sports, swimming, Bible studies, and other special activities. Plus, a 10-year reunion for alumni campers is planned for Wednesday evening. Please call 758-4222 for further information. Registration forms are available at the libraries in Middlebourne, Sistersville, and Paden City.

The Oxford Street Church of Christ in Sistersville is planning its annual Family Bible School the week of July 14 through 18 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “Castaway Bay.” Classes are planned for all ages, from nursery through adults, and everyone is invited to attend. The Tyler County Senior Center will host a brunch on July 18, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with an all-you-can eat menu of sausage gravy, biscuits, pancakes, scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, omelets (made to order), fruit salad, coffee, tea, juice & milk.

The Town of Friendly will be hosting an ice cream social on July 19 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Friendly Community Building. Hot dogs, nacho cheese, pie and cake will be served as well as homemade ice cream. Also available will be checkers, fishing pond, door prizes, cake walk,, covered wagon rides, horse shoes and live music. Everyone is welcome.

Quaker State Alumni will meet for breakfast on July 19 at the Fireside Restaurant in St. Marys at 9 a.m. Plans will be finalized for the third annual reunion. The reunion will be on Aug. 2 at the St. Marys Marina. A covered dish will be served at noon. Helpers are needed to make this event a success. The New Martinsville United Methodist Church will be holding God’s Big Backyard Vacation Bible School, starting July 20 through July 24 at the church. Times will be Sunday 5:30 p.m., registration, through 8:15 p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. This VBS is for ages 4 though sixth grade and an adult class. Children are invited to come and join the fun.

The Sistersville Public Library Board will meet Monday July 21, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at the library.

The Tyler County Public Library in Middlebourne will be offering a fine free week July 6 through July 13.

Meeting and covered dish dinner of the Paden City Happy Timers Senior Citizens will be held July 10 at the center with lunch at noon. Bring a covered dish. New members are always welcome by calling the center at 337-8130 or President Joan Billiter at 337-8158.

The Paden City Park and Pool Commission will host it’s first of eight community concerts on July 10 at 7 p.m. This week’s concert will feature “True Country”, a fan favorite from last year’s concert series.

Alva United Methodist Church is sponsoring a community dinner/gospel sing on July 13 at 1 p.m. at the Alvy Community Bldg. Music provided by Peacemakers. Drinks, bread, ham and turkey provided. Bring a covered dish.

The Elson Family gospel singers will perform July 13 at the Chapel Victory Church on town hill in Pine Grove at 7 p.m. The public is invited.

By 9:10 a.m. two of the Summer Knights participants have straggled in to begin the morning portion of the six-hour session and are working on a sports PSA for the Lady Knights softball team.

Free vision testing will be available for local senior citizens on July 14, starting at 10 a.m. at the Tyler County Senior Center in Middlebourne. Tell and bring a friend.

The Tyler County Senior Center will be celebrating 4th of July with a picnic lunch on Thursday, July 3, 2008. The picnic starts at 11:30a.m. Menu includes cheeseburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, baked beans, watermelon. If interested in joining us, please call 758-4919 or 758-5153.

The Town of Friendly will be having its 4th of July picnic at 1 p.m. at the Friendly Community Building. The town will provide the hot dogs. Everyone bring a covered dish. There will be horseshoe pitching, door prizes and live music. Everyone is welcome. To come and have a great time.

If you are a cancer survivor, cancer patient, care giver or family member you are invited to attend a Cancer Support Group meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, July 15th at 1:00 PM at the New Martinsville United Methodist Church.
