Gospel Sing - July 26
Beech Run Free Will Baptist Church will be hosting The Golden Tones and The Kings Kids on July 26 at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and spend the evening singing praises to our Lord. Refreshments to follow.
Friendly VBS - July 27-31
Friendly Baptist Church will be hosting Vacation Bible School, sponsored by New Whiteland Baptist Church, Indiana, on July 27 through 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be classes for age 3 to adult. Power Lab VBS - July 27-31
Vacation Bible School will be held at the First Baptist Church of Paden City July 27-31 from 6-8:30 p.m. each night. The theme is Power Lab: Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power! Sistersville VBS - July 28 - Aug. 1
The Sistersville First United Methodist Church invites all children to ride the wave of God’s love at their summer Vacation Bible School Beach Party: Surfing through the Scriptures. PowerLab - Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power” Vacation Bible School will be held July 28 to Aug. 1, 6-9 p.m., at the First Church of God, located at 255 Russell Avenue in New Martinsville (by Wal-Mart). The Paden City Vol. Fire Co. will sponsor an all-you-can-eat breakfast at the fire hall on Aug. 2 from 8 a.m. until noon. The menu includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links and patties, pancakes, French toast, sausage gravy, biscuits, fruit salad, toast, coffee, milk, chocolate milk, apple juice, and orange juice. Camp CSI - Christ Seeking Individuals” is the theme for the 10th Christian Teen Camp of Tyler County. It takes place July 14-18.This free camp is offered to sixth through twelfth graders at the Tyler County 4-H Camp by the Middlebourne Baptist Church. All youth are invited! Camp activities include music, campfires, games, sports, swimming, Bible studies, and other special activities. Plus, a 10-year reunion for alumni campers is planned for Wednesday evening. The Tyler County Senior Center will host a brunch on July 18, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with an all-you-can eat menu of sausage gravy, biscuits, pancakes, scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, omelets (made to order), fruit salad, coffee, tea, juice & milk.
Ice Cream Social - July 19
The Town of Friendly will be hosting an ice cream social on July 19 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Friendly Community Building. Hot dogs, nacho cheese, pie and cake will be served as well as homemade ice cream. Also available will be checkers, fishing pond, door prizes, cake walk,, covered wagon rides, horse shoes and live music. Everyone is welcome.
Alumni Meeting - July 19
Quaker State Alumni will meet for breakfast on July 19 at the Fireside Restaurant in St. Marys at 9 a.m. Plans will be finalized for the third annual reunion. The reunion will be on Aug. 2 at the St. Marys Marina. A covered dish will be served at noon. Helpers are needed to make this event a success. The New Martinsville United Methodist Church will be holding God’s Big Backyard Vacation Bible School, starting July 20 through July 24 at the church. Times will be Sunday 5:30 p.m., registration, through 8:15 p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. This VBS is for ages 4 though sixth grade and an adult class. Children are invited to come and join the fun.

Fine Free Week July 6-13

Happy Timers - July 10
Meeting and covered dish dinner of the Paden City Happy Timers Senior Citizens will be held July 10 at the center with lunch at noon. Bring a covered dish. New members are always welcome by calling the center at 337-8130 or President Joan Billiter at 337-8158.
Music in the Park - July 10
The Paden City Park and Pool Commission will host it’s first of eight community concerts on July 10 at 7 p.m. This week’s concert will feature “True Country”, a fan favorite from last year’s concert series.

Heating up with Summer Knights
By 9:10 a.m. two of the Summer Knights participants have straggled in to begin the morning portion of the six-hour session and are working on a sports PSA for the Lady Knights softball team.
